Hi, my name is Annemarie van den Berg and this website is part of my master thesis. Or I could better say, my master thesis is part of this website :)

My thesis reflects on my design practice and my teaching practice. (Although teaching is perhaps not the right word).

The works on show here are made during my studies (Master Education in Arts @ Piet Zwart Institute.) They are all made somewhere in between 2017–2021. On show here are drawings, animations, or movies, basically anything visual/made.

These works talk as much as my thesis talks.

These drawings belong to an assignment by Irina Shapiro for the module "Contemporary Issues in Art and Design Education". While visiting Documenta in 2017 with the class we were each asked to think of five things that resonate.


Researching and thinking about some fundamental elements of Pink Pony Express way of working.
Be aware, and be open, that when you start a conversation with something 'other', that something new will get into excisting. Something in the middle.

Connect your project to other fields than your own. Try to avoid ‘l’art pour l’art’. Don’t stay in your bubble.
Step away from your desk and your computer. Investigate more in the real than on (the passive) internet.


Covid just entered the universe. I decided to do a lecure about my Pony Practice where I talked about practical insights when designing in specific contexts. [tips on] how to graduate [during pandemic times]

This video is a representation of a booklet I made for my new class of graduating students. I could luckily meet the students physically at the academy and decided to make something physical – to give to them.


Animation. It talks about me and the other. In which me can be a teacher/tutor, and the other a student. Or me can be a teacher, and the other can be the art academy in which i teach.


I found out that I am practicing my teaching the same way I am practicing my practice.
